• Job Title: Software Technical Leader, Functional Safety L3
• Experience: 6-9 years
• Educational Qualifications: B.E/B. Tech/M.E/MTech in Electronics/Communication/Electrical/Instrumentation
Job Purpose:
As a Senior Functional Safety Engineer, you will drive the design and delivery of ASIL compliant embedded software for power electronics applications within BorgWarner’s Power Drive Systems (PDS) business unit. This role combines deep technical ownership with system level thinking, offering exposure to global programs, advanced architectures, and industry leading functional safety practices across BorgWarner.

Key Responsibility:


·        Develop software for use in power electronics production projects including inverter and converter electronic controllers for FuSa requirements, focusing on reusability across projects whenever possible


·        Design/code/test software following Automotive SPICE-compliant development process


·        Working with multisite teams using AGILE methodology


·        Interface with Systems engineering to ensure software requirements are understood and documented appropriately & analyzed prior to software design and implementation


·        Support the development/maintenance of and adhere to the project family common software architecture


·        Ensure documented traceability from requirements through test cases


·       Work across time zones with other software engineers


What we are looking for:


  • Minimum 3 years in Functional safety (FuSa) software development.


  • Working knowledge of microcontroller peripherals, Hands on experience with functional safety level 3 software development is compulsory- ADC monitoring, SMU configs, QSPI monitoring, clock monitoring. External/Internal Watchdog, BIST etc.


  • Hands-on experience with 32-bit Infineon TC3xx microcontrollers, including configuration and usage of on-chip peripherals.


  • Understanding AUTOSAR configuration tools and methodology with Hands-on experience on Functional safety (FuSa) software, IO hardware abstraction (IoHwAb) and MCAL development through various tools from Vector such as DaVinci/EB Tresos etc will be an added advantage.


  • Exemplary expertise in Embedded SW development using C language


  • Expertise in cross compilers and debuggers like Lauterbach


  • Good expertise in configuration & Change management tools such as Plastic SCM, Bit Bucket, JIRA and Polarion


  • Exposure to Agile methodology.
