Job title: Software Engineer

About the role:  



 This position reports to a manger based in Pune, India. You will collaborate with teams globally so flexibility with early/latemorning starts will be needed. 



The ideal candidate is a polyglot engineer who is comfortable moving betweensystems-levelmacOS,or Windowsdevelopment and high-scale backend services written in Java and Go, while managing complex data flows through Snowflake, Kafka, and S3.



Responsibilities



  • Responsible to work on problems of complex scope,Producedesigns and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirements. 



  • Should work as a fully contributing team member, under broad guidance with independent planning and execution of responsibilities.



  • Should effectively use various AI tools approved byorganizationtooptimizeefforts and create greater impact.



  • Should continue to build upon domain knowledge along with technical/proprietary skills to reach levels ofexpertise.



  • Effectively collaborate with peers across different time zones on designs, code reviews, and testing. 



Requirements



  • Technical Proficiency:2 - 5years of professional software development experience with deepexpertisein Java.



  • Experience developing microservices in multi-tenant SaaSapplication. 




  • Problem Solving: Ability to navigate a complex, multi-language environment and bridge the gap between desktop clients and backend infrastructure.



  • Fast learner and self-directed, flexible enough to work on new technologies as well as some legacy components. 



Desired (nice-to-have) Skills:



  • macOS Expertise: Proven experience developing or maintaining macOS applications (familiarity with Swift or system-level macOS APIs is a significant plus).



  • Cloud & Data: Strong experience with AWS S3 and Apache Kafka.



  • Data Warehousing: Experience working with Snowflake (querying,optimizing, and integrating).



  • Orchestration: Experience with DAG-based workflow tools (e.g., Apache Airflow or similar).



  • Identity Security: Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and ISC connector frameworks is highly preferred.



What success looks like in the role:



In first 30 days (Onboarding & Integration):



  • Understanding Domain and Products:You will understand the Identity Management domainAlso understandSailPoint’sIdentity Security Cloudand other products.



  • Environment Mastery: You will have your development environment fully configured for the macOS application, as well as our Java and Go microservices.



  • Architecture Deep Dive: You will gain a solid understanding of the data flow between our microservices, Kafka, and Snowflake, and how the ISC connectors integrate with the broader identity ecosystem.



  • Initial Contributions: You will have successfully completed your first few code reviews and shipped a minor bug fix or improvement to the macOS application or a backend service.



In first 90 days (Execution & Ownership):



  • Full Ownership: You will have taken primary responsibility for the maintenance and evolution of the macOS application, including handling OS compatibility updates and performance tuning.



  • Service Reliability: You will be independently managing the ISC connectors and backend microservices, ensuring that data pipelines (Kafka, S3, Snowflake) are running smoothly.




  • Orchestration Proficiency: You will be comfortable navigating andmodifyingDAGs to ensure reliable data orchestration and troubleshooting any pipeline failures.



In first 180 days (Innovation & Impact):



  • Technical Leadership: You are the recognized subject matter expert for the macOS application. You are proactivelyidentifyingand mitigating potential system-level issues before theyimpactusers.



  • Optimization & Scaling: You will have led at least one major architectural improvement, such asoptimizingSnowflake data ingestion or increasing the throughput of our Go-based microservices.



  • Strategic Growth: You are contributing to the long-term roadmap for our identity integrations and mentoring other engineers on the nuances of macOS systems development and distributed backend architecture.
