Job Description


We are looking to hire a .Net Software Engineer, with excellent technical and communication skills, to effectively collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop functionality and enhancements for the robotic process automation work. In his/her day-to-day operations, the Application Developer will also field and resolve usage issues and perform other duties as assigned, that align with the role’s responsibilities and are required for the business.


This role provides an opportunity to join our Software Engineering team. This role transcends organizational and geographical boundaries as it aims to support and enable the various divisions of the Herman Miller business group across the globe. The ideal candidate should understand the software development lifecycle and use agile methodology (SCRUM) to design, develop, test and implement solutions that deliver on end-user needs.


Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL code including stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions.
  • Optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for performance and scalability.
  • Maintain and improve existing database schemas, data models, and ETL processes.
  • Designs, develops and maintains production, development, testing and training environments.
  • Controls access to these environments in compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Migrates software changes to these environments in compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Collaborate with application developers, data architects, and business analysts to support end-to-end solution delivery.
  • Document technical designs, data flows, and development processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
  • On-call rotation assignment in support of all implemented enterprise level software.

Required Skills


  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Database (12c or later) or Transactional SQL, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling principles.
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and packages.
  • Familiarity with database performance tuning tools and techniques.
  • Experience developing scalable, high-concurrency RESTful APIs and web services using C# and the .NET Core framework
  • Familiarity with React for developing modern, responsive front-end user interfaces.
  • Experience with AWS cloud platform
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub repository for version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Ideal candidate


  • A graduate / post-graduate in computer science / technology / or equivalent with relevant technical skills
  • 4 – 6 years of work experience in .Net and React,  with Oracle PL/SQL or T-SQL development
  • Technology certifications are a plus.
  • Having excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work individually or within a team environment.
  • Ability to participate in multiple projects, tasks and priorities in a healthy work environment
  • Has attention to detail and a penchant for quality
  • Proficient in documentation as well as process and workflow design
  • Command of version control methodologies, preferably with GIT/Bitbucket or equivalent
  • Ability to take direction, constructive criticism and work to specified deadlines
  • Adhere to process and procedures defined for the role, the team and the organization

This role will work in the shift timings of 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. or 2:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. IST. The employees could be requested to work in a different shift on rare occasions to support the business during a critical issue or for any releases/migrations that maybe scheduled. Location of work is Bangalore, India. Initial 6 months, until successful completion of probation period, employees will work from office and then transition to hybrid working model.


Reporting structure


  • Locally reporting to Working Team Lead in India.
  • Matrix reporting to WTL in US.
