Global Installment Lending (GIL) is part of Amazon Payments organisation. We are an organisation with customer obsession to deliver win-win solutions for Customers, Amazon and our Bank Partners. We are looking for a Software Development Manager to join the team to help deliver core components of our Installment systems. Core GIL components are used across 14+ countries. Come join us!
Key job responsibilities
As a leader and manager of the team
- You will be working with business partners, software development engineers, testers, and UI/UX designers to design, implement, test, launch, and maintain Global Installment Lending (GIL) experiences for Amazon customers.
- You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define product features, drive system architecture, and spearhead the best-practices that enable a quality product.
- You will learn a variety of advanced technologies, development processes, and develop well-rounded skills such as leadership, and effective project management.
- You will also be responsible for building a strong development team and developing career plans for the engineers reporting to you.
- 4+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
