Job description

Alexa+ is Amazon's next-generation personal assistant powered by generative AI – more conversational, smarter, personalized, and built to get things done on any device.
The Alexa 3P Experiences team is on a mission to expand what Alexa+ can do for customers by building consumer-facing experiences with trusted third-party partners like Uber, Ticketmaster, Yelp, and more. Using frontier AI technologies – including Large Language Models (LLMs), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) capabilities – we create agentic experiences that connect customers with an ever-expanding selection of services through natural conversation.
As a Senior SDE on this team, you will lead the design and architecture of category-defining experiences and category-scaling SDKs – reusable frameworks that enable partners to build sophisticated experiences with minimal effort. You will take a long-term view of system architecture, drive engineering best practices, and make technical trade-offs that balance speed of delivery with scalability and operational excellence. You will mentor engineers, influence technical direction across the org, and work directly with product, design, and partner teams to shape how millions of customers discover and interact with 3P services on Alexa+.
We're a team that moves fast, builds with AI-native technologies, and measures success by customer impact. If you want to lead at the intersection of generative AI and consumer experiences, this is the place.
Key job responsibilities
– Leading the design and architecture of consumer-facing 3P experiences and agentic Experts that enable customers to complete tasks through trusted partners on Alexa+
– Owning the technical vision and architecture for category scaling frameworks that enable partners to build sophisticated experiences with minimal effort
– Taking a long-term view of system architecture, proactively identifying deficiencies and proposing larger initiatives to improve scalability and reliability
– Making sound technical trade-offs that balance speed of delivery with operational excellence, security, and long-term maintainability
– Driving engineering best practices and setting standards across the team and broader org
– When confronted with discordant views, finding the best path forward and building consensus across engineering, product, and partner teams
– Mentoring and developing engineers, raising the technical bar and improving engineering practices across the organization
A day in the life
A typical day might start with a design review where you're guiding the team through architectural trade-offs for a new category experience. You'll spend time mentoring engineers, unblocking technical challenges, and driving alignment with product and partner teams. The afternoon is a mix of deep technical work – writing code, reviewing CRs, and prototyping solutions – balanced with strategic thinking on how to scale the team's systems and processes. We are a fun, close-knit team where everyone is ready to roll up their sleeves and help each other out, push boundaries, and have fun doing it!
About the team
Alexa 3P Experiences is a dedicated organization within Alexa Domains, purpose-built to rapidly expand the choices and selection of agentic experiences on Alexa+.
