Software Development Engineer, DaS FinTech

Amazon Devices and Services Fintech is the global team that designs and builds the financial planning and analysis tools for wide variety of Amazon’s new and established organisations. From Kindle to Ring and even new and exciting companies like Kuiper (our new interstellar satellite play) this team enjoys a wide variety of complex and interesting problem spaces. They are almost like FinTech consultants embedded in Amazon.
The ideal engineer for this space will be highly quantitative, have great judgment and passion to design and build a great customer experience, be inventive, and have a strong track record of delivery. You also have a pragmatic approach and iterative approach to building software: you have an ability to simplify and get things done with a demonstrated track record of building and delivering software and working effectively with external and internal teams. We’re looking for engineers with strong technical fundamentals, curiosity about LLM systems and large-scale architectures, and the drive to build durable AI infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. As a Software Development Engineer, you will:
Lead architecture of large initiatives in scaling, security and availability.
Design, develop and support a world-class search and analytics platform serving individuals and businesses of all sizes
Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary languages are Java and Python
Continually challenge what exists and explore what should be changed to best meet evolving business and market needs.
Possess expert knowledge in large scale distributed system design and engineering best practices
Participate in setting a vision and objectives for Search Services in alignment with business and market needs
Drive and work on algorithm and architecture design, execute and deliver results.

Lead team(s) of highly performing individuals in the design of flexible and scalable solutions, and day-to-day operations

• You ensure your team is stronger because of your presence, but does not require your presence to be successful
• Very fast and independent in resolving technical issues, understanding design/code and elegant coder
• Independently Design distributed software using object oriented approach/technologies
• Ability to find bottlenecks in existing code/design and come up with solution to address it
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, etc.
- 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience securing cloud software services and understanding design for scalability, performance and reliability
- Experience with web services and REST APIs
- Experience in computer architecture, or experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
