Software Designer - C#



In this role, you have an opportunity to be part of Philips Diagnostic X-Ray R&D team. You will be responsible for the design and development of software components of the Philips Diagnostic X-Ray based Products.
 


Your role:


  • Responsible for Requirements, Design, implementation, test and integration of his software module in accordance with the SW Unit Requirement and design specifications, easy to maintain, extendible (components and modules) and re-usable
  • Ensures that software is reliable, efficient, easy to maintain, and user-friendly.
  • Ensures that there is proper documentation for the developed SW.
  • Ensures that SW modules meet the product requirements.
  • Determines the Unit interfaces (HW/SW), in close consultation with relevant disciplines.
  • Technically responsible for the software in (sub-) projects. Control and verify that the SW is build according to his SW architecture. Verifies that the integration is according to the architecture.
  • Maintains software by solving problems and implementing changes.
  • Networks with colleagues within BU and beyond and maintains external contacts for benchmarking, new SW-technologies, tooling, design methods, and reflects them to the SW-group.
  • Draws up personal schedule and reports on progress.
  • Contributes to the Work Breakdown Structure/ the planning process of his/her area.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with country specific regulations.

You are fit if:


  • Completed engineering studies at university level: BE/ME/MTech with 5+ years of experience in Software development.
  • Proficiency in C and C# programming languages, with a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • Minimum 5 years in Application software development using C# on Windows platform, Visual studio, STL.
  • Sound understanding of Multithreading and Interprocess communications
  • Defines interfaces between hardware and software, evaluates operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Ability to understand and debug problems across hardware/software boundaries
  • Experience in the field of Medical Devices product design will be added advantage
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304/ISO13485 standards is added advantage
  • System thinking mindset and domain expertise in the related area
  • Good team player and ability to work independently & act pro-actively.
  • Analytical, creative and abstract thinker.
  • Familiar with Agile SW Development practices 
  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) on different levels.
  • Excellent communication skills

How we work together:
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.


Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.


Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.


This role is an office-based role.
