The Role –
The Site Installation Manager (Mechanical/Electrical) role at Xylem in Mumbai involves end-to-end oversight of project execution, from mobilization to commissioning.
Core Responsibilities –
This position demands complete ownership of equipment installation, erection, and commissioning to ensure timelines, costs, quality, and customer satisfaction are met. Key tasks include coordinating with customers, consultants, and end-users, identifying and verifying equipment/accessories against approved designs, arranging lifting machinery, and supervising shifts from storage to site. Daily meetings and proactive communication with internal & external teams (consultants, Customers, vendors and end user) and stakeholders address evolving project needs.

Incumbents need strong technical expertise in mechanical or electrical systems, leadership for team/subcontractor supervision, and problem-solving for real-time challenges. Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills are essential in a fast-paced project environment like Xylem's water technology projects.
The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the ability to succeed in Sewage Treatment Plant environment, while ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained.
The Role & Responsibility –
This role expands on the Site Installation Manager (Mechanical/Electrical) position at Xylem Mumbai, emphasizing contractual oversight, stakeholder coordination, and full project lifecycle management for water equipment installations.
Project Delivery Duties –
Deliver projects per tender terms, timelines, costs, and quality standards while ensuring customer satisfaction. Act as the single point of contact for customers, consultants, and end-users, handling all contractual matters during execution. Review project documents, prepare site installation schedules, and track progress via biweekly reports, escalating risks or delays promptly.
Technical Expertise Required –
Possess in-depth knowledge of installation, erection, commissioning, unloading, and storage for rotary/static equipment, plus piping (pipes, valves, bends, miters). Supervise all equipment installation/commissioning, coordinate QA/QC checks, sign protocols for payments, and finalize mechanical/electrical vendors per approved designs. Manage plant commissioning, collect completion certificates, and develop scope matrices with customers/suppliers. His expertise need to develop team members under him.
Stakeholder and Team Management –
Lead labor teams, operators, contractors, and locals; coordinate across internal departments (engineering, procurement, finance, QA/QC) and vendors. Conduct regular customer meetings for requirement alignment, query resolution (escalating commercial issues), and risk management plans. Maintain site documentation (approvals, billings, reports, attendance) and ensure safety best practices.
Additional Expectations –
Participate in process improvements using personal expertise, determine technical requirements per standards, and implement reporting/monitoring for on-time, budgeted delivery. Foster a safe, organized workplace while assessing risks for smooth execution.
