Job Description: Join Intel as a Silicon Firmware Development Engineer and become part of a dynamic team shaping the future of technology. By designing and implementing interfaces that abstract low-level hardware details, you will play a crucial role in enabling higher levels of software and firmware functionality. Qualifications:Key Responsibilities - Develop UEFI BIOS Reference code and maintain firmware that interface directly with hardware. - Design and implement interfaces to abstract low-level hardware functionality for higher-level software applications. - Conduct design and code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to industry standards(UEFI, ACPI, PCIe). - Test and validate product implementations, ensuring robust and secure solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges, improve efficiency, and achieve project goals. - Utilize secure code development practices and lifecycle methodologies to ensure the integrity and reliability of firmware solutions. - Debug software and firmware issues to ensure optimal system performance and functionality. Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's or BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related specialized field. - 3-plus years of experience in firmware or software development with a Bachelor's degree, 2-plus years of experience with a Master's degree. - Proficiency in C programming. - Solid understanding of computer architecture principles. - Proven ability to execute tasks in a disciplined and detail-oriented manner. - Expertise in problem-solving and debugging software. - Knowledge of secure code development practices and lifecycle. - Experience with technology domain-specific knowledge relevant to firmware and software engineering. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Intel processor architecture. Experience with legacy BIOS platforms such as Phoenix or AMI, and/or UEFI firmware development. Understanding of EDK and Tiano cores. Experience with industry specifications such as PCI, ACPI, DDR ,IPMI,SMBIOS etc Experience in direct FW development, C programming in an embedded context with constrained resources Experience with Intel x86 Assembly Language Experience in PC assembly/building skills Experience with PC architecture Experience with debug and technical problem solving Low level debugging experience using ITP tool Experience with Simics knowledge Background in Open Source methodology, development philosophy, and source code architecture.
