Job description

At Fortanix, we’re redefining cloud security by enabling customers to build and run applications with a higher level of protection than traditional approaches allow. We’re looking for a Senior Technical Writer who can create clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation, while taking increasing ownership in a structured, agile environment.

This role suits someone with a strong foundation in technical writing who is ready to deepen product understanding, drive documentation strategy for their areas, and meaningfully improve the customer experience.

What you’ll do
  • Own and drive documentation for specific products or feature areas end-to-end
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to ensure documentation explains not just how features work, but also why they exist and how customers should use them
  • Plan, draft, review, and publish documentation updates, independently handling standard work and collaborating on more complex topics
  • Go beyond procedural writing by clearly explaining concepts, use cases, and design decisions
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and outdated content, and proactively improve documentation quality
  • Contribute to and evolve the information architecture to ensure content is easy to navigate and scale
  • Create UI text, in-product help, developer documentation, and supporting materials
  • Improve content reuse and consistency through structured writing and single-sourcing approaches
  • Work within docs-as-code workflows (Git-based) to manage changes, reviews, and releases
  • Create supporting assets such as tutorials or short videos to enhance user understanding
