Role Overview : The AVP acts as the Workday and HR Technology champion, enabling digital transformation and operational efficiency while leading a geographically dispersed, high-performing HR Shared Services (HRSS) team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership for Employee Lifecycle Operations
• Provide strategic direction and oversight for global onboarding, internal transfers, and offboarding operations.
• Ensure delivery of a world-class employee experience by maintaining seamless, compliant, and scalable lifecycle processes across all regions.
• Drive governance of SLAs, KPIs, compliance controls, and quality standards across HR operations.
• Anticipate risks, proactively address process gaps, and steer the function toward operational resilience.
2. Workday Ownership & HR Technology Transformation
• Serve as the senior Workday SME for Employee Lifecycle processes, ensuring optimized system usage and data accuracy.
• Lead global Workday enhancement initiatives, including process redesign, configuration updates, automation scripts, and system troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with HRIS, IT, and cross-functional leaders to implement technology-driven improvements and digital automation solutions.
• Champion AI-enabled HR solutions, leveraging analytical insights to improve process throughput and workforce experience.
3. Global People Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment
• Lead and develop multi-region HRSS teams, fostering accountability, operational rigor, and a high-performance culture.
• Optimize workforce planning, resource allocation, and time-zone coverage to maximize service efficiency.
• Strengthen strategic partnerships with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Payroll, IT, Legal, and Compliance teams.
• Act as the senior escalation leader for complex employee lifecycle cases, audits, and regulatory matters.
4. Process Excellence, Standardization & Automation
• Establish global operating standards, process harmonization, and governance frameworks across countries.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual processing and improve speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, or comparable methodologies.
• Ensure robust documentation including SOPs, process maps, metrics dashboards, compliance documentation, and audit trails.
Skills & Experience Required
• 8–12 years of progressive HR Shared Services / HR Operations leadership experience, including managing global teams.
• Strong Workday expertise (business process configuration, data management, and lifecycle workflows).
• Deep understanding of global HR compliance requirements, statutory labor norms, and operational controls.
• Proven track record of leading transformations, automation initiatives, and process standardization across multinational environments.
• Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience managing SLAs, metrics dashboards, and operational insights.
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is an advantage.
• MBA or equivalent advanced degree in HR preferred.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office and HR analytics tools.
