Position Overview
The National Logistics Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing transportation and warehousing strategies that support the organization's business goals. This role ensures cost efficiency, high service standards, and environmental responsibility throughout all logistics activities. The manager oversees service provider selection, contract negotiation, performance reviews, and compliance with all relevant regulations, working collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive transportation and warehousing strategies aligned with business objectives, considering cost, service level agreements, and sustainability.
Lead the selection and onboarding process for transportation service providers; manage contracts and ensure compliance with terms and agreements.
Conduct strategic forecasting and capacity planning to anticipate future transportation needs and mitigate risks.
Negotiate commercial tariffs and provide expert recommendations to senior management on logistics initiatives.
Execute and oversee warehousing contracts, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for cost savings and enhanced service.
Maintain data quality for master and transactional records, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Analyze transportation and distribution data to identify trends, optimize supply chain efficiency, and drive cost reductions.
Support collection and analysis of transportation capacity data to improve route optimization and decision-making.
Troubleshoot logistics issues and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve challenges.
Ensure strict compliance with regulatory standards, quality assurance procedures, and company policies; assist with audits and compliance checks.
Keep accurate, up-to-date records in logistics management systems, with oversight from senior team members.
Communicate shipment statuses, delays, and logistics matters to internal teams and external partners, escalating issues for timely resolution.
Review transporter and warehouse performance monthly, taking corrective actions as needed to meet standards and agreements.
Support distribution functions such as inventory management, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations to optimize supply chain and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Supply Chain, Transport, Logistics, Operations, or Physical Distribution.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
Expertise in onward and reverse logistics, with international logistics experience.
Proven ability to manage warehousing operations.
Knowledge of GST and medical device regulations.
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
Strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This is an office based role.
