Senior Linux Automation Expert (Ansible)

Lead the Automation Implementation for RedHat Enterprise Linux Server Service & Cloud Service operations of Bosch worldwide.

• Enhance the design of automation framework strategies and roadmap, lead the implementations accordingly.

  
  

• Continuous improvement of automation for the installation and maintenance of Linux Operating System and related components in a Large-scale Linux Server infrastructure.

  
  

• Ensure security operations e.g. hardening, patch management, and threat detection of Linux Servers is properly done in a fully automated way.

  
  

• Keep up with the latest security requirements, plan and conduct implementation to automate them.

  
  

• Continuous improvement of automation for Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management. Continuously improve the process where needed. Ensure stable, secure and efficient service and operations.

  
  

• Develop API driven automation.

  
  

• Ensure secure coding.

  
  

• Maintain CI/CD pipeline, ensure smooth and secured development process.

  
  

• Address audit findings and IT risks including remediation, progress tracking, status reporting and evidence documentation.

  
  

• Maintain high-availability of systems.

  
  

• Coordinate and collaborate with 1st & 2nd level support, analyze, troubleshoot, and provide solutions for escalated technical issues.

  
  

• Improve monitoring . Knowledge in Icinga, Zabbix, CheckMK…etc. will be a plus.

  
  

• Prepare and maintain SOP documentations.

  
  

• Consult and collaborate with IT and DevOps teams on security best practices and requirements for Linux/Unix Operating systems in On-Prem/Cloud environments.

  
  

• Perform Host management, Golden image management and Automation for cloud platforms.

  
  

• Coordinate storage, backup and ESX administration.

  
  

• Continuously improve the visibility of  the security status of the environment.

  
  

• Participate in Agile meetings.

  
  

• Lead event driven automation and self-healing topics

  
  

Educational qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or similar specialization/technical discipline

Experience :

Linux Server operation and administration experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience and knowledge in the field of Linux server Operations and System engineering with Automation. 

  
  

• Experience in managing Linux Servers in a large scale Ubuntu/Debian/RHEL environment with good administration skills.

  
  

• Experience with integrating Linux server infrastructure with Identity providers such as Active Directory and Privilege Access Management.

  
  

• Experience using different patch management solutions (Eg: Satellite, Suse manager, BMC, Big Fix) for large infrastructure at a scale of 10,000+ systems.

  
  

Ansible & Ansible Automation Platform experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Ansible script development.

  
  

• Have automation team lead experience

  
  

• Have below Ansible Automation Platform knowledge:

  
  

• In-depth knowledge of the Ansible Automation Platform infrastructure setup

  
  

• API driven automation

  
  

• Creating workflows and scheduled jobs

  
  

• RBAC management with Identity Management tools

  
  

• Secrets management with tools from vendors such as Cyberark, Hashicorp

  
  

• Intensive Experience and comprehensive knowledge in IT security.

  
  

• Knowledge and experience of monitoring systems. Knowledge in Icinga, Zabbix, CheckMK…etc. will be a plus.

  
  

• Experience in implementing self-healing infrastructure and event driven automation

  
  

• Experience in ServiceNow integration and ServiceNow workflow development

  
  

• Good understanding of DevOps and Agile principles (e.g., CI/CD, GitOps)

  
  

• Experience with IT Service Management based on ITIL and industry established quality standards.

  
  

• Experience using different patch management solutions (Eg: Satellite, Suse manager, BMC, Big Fix) to handle patch management for large infrastructure at a scale of 10,000+ systems

  
  

• Knowledge of data analytics and visualization/reporting tool such as Splunk and/or PowerBI will be preferred.

  
  

• Problem solving mindset to bring continuous improvement for self and the organization

  
  

• Good communication and coordination skill to ensure client requests and escalations are handled well with high level of customer satisfactions.

  
  

• Experience with using AI capabilities to enhance/optimize Automation implementations further

  
  

• Good presentation skills to a cross-cultural audience
