A Day in the LifeWe’re seeking an experienced, hands on Senior Developer to join the Global Commercial Office’s (GCO) Customer Experience Technology team.
GCO fuels commercial growth, and the Customer Experience Technology team connects technology to better customer experiences and measurable outcomes.
As a Senior Developer – Marketing Automation, you’ll build and support marketing automation solutions for personalized, data driven engagement at global scale.
You’ll support global marketing teams by designing, building, and optimizing solutions in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement and Salesforce Data360.

Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned:


  • Responsible for evaluating and designing, developing, or modifying programs for marketing using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Engagement, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, AMPScript, Server‑Side JavaScript (SSJS), Data Extensions, SQL, and APIs.
  • Develop system design documentation (including GUI design, if required), perform coding, and test/debug programs.
  • Create ad hoc or bolt‑on programs for integrations or functional business teams as needed between Marketing Cloud Engagement, Data360, CRM systems, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation.
  • Recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
  • Train users in system enhancements and modifications.
  • Provide patch and software upgrades to existing systems as required.
  • Proactively monitor for errors, correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation for program support.
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
  • Work closely with functional users to enhance and maintain programs.
  • Build and manage customer data models and activation use cases using Salesforce Data 360 to enable segmentation, personalization, and analytics.
  • Partner closely with global marketing and customer experience teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Provide hands‑on technical leadership across the full development lifecycle, from solution design through deployment and production support.
  • Support global marketing campaigns, including troubleshooting and continuous optimization.
  • Mentor and guide other developers through technical leadership and knowledge sharing.

Required Knowledge and Experience:


  • Required: Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7–13 years of software industry experience.
  • Strong, hands‑on development experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement.
  • Experience working with Salesforce Data360 and/or data ingestion, modelling, and activation.
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following: AMPScript, server-side JavaScript (SSJS), SQL, and API integrations.
    Nice to Haves:
  • Background supporting marketing or commercial functions, such as campaign execution, customer journeys, personalization, or marketing analytics.
  • Experience designing and supporting integrations using APIs and data pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with global stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical partners.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment is preferred.
