Title             :  Senior Executive - R&D (Concrete)

Department:R&D


Location :      Jhagadia


Reports To:    Project Specialist - R&D


Overview:
The R&D Chemist is responsible for the development, modification, and maintenance of concrete products manufactured by the company. The tasks & responsibility include:


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Research and New develop product as per product idea developed product management.
  • Assist in development of new products as per inputs from product management and senior R&D team.
  • Conduct laboratory trials for concrete admixtures and specialty products.
  • Support formulation development, evaluation, and optimization of products.
  • Perform routine testing of raw materials and finished products as per IS / ASTM / EN standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, observations, and test results.
  • Assist in stability studies and help resolve product performance issues.
  • Coordinate with production for trial batches and ensure proper implementation of formulations.
  • Provide technical support for site-related issues and product performance when required.
  • Support cost optimization through evaluation of alternative raw materials under guidance.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and usage of laboratory equipment.
  • Update and maintain calibration data for all laboratory equipment as per laboratory calibration plan and all ISO related activities.
  • Follow ISO, quality, and documentation requirements.
  • Adhere to EHS guidelines and identify potential safety risks in laboratory operations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and efficient utilization of lab space.
  • Coordinate with QC and technical teams for troubleshooting activities.
  • Support internal systems and documentation (e.g., SAP, PCP, NUAGE).
  • Be proactive in identifying safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure optimum lab space utilization and proper housekeeping always.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information in compliance with Sika policies

Qualifications:


  • BSc degree in Chemistry/ B.E in Chemical engineering or Material Science.

Experience:


Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product development in Chemical Manufacturing Company for Concrete Admixture products. Candidate must have good knowledge of cement chemistry, formulation and application knowledge of various Admixture products.


Candidate must be familiar with the relevant IS, EN and ASTM testing methods and standards for raw materials and finished product. Proficient use of SAP.


Strong communication and inter-personal skills. Highly organized with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.
