Meet the Team
Dexcom is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to architect, build, and operate the resilient, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure that powers our R&D Platform serving millions of Customers every day. This role is crucial in ensuring rapid, safe, and compliant delivery of life-changing medical technologies.
As a senior technical leader within the SRE team, you will provide strategic guidance and technical oversight, partnering with engineering, platform, and architecture groups to drive organizational reliability maturity. You will be responsible for leading initiatives in automation, observability, and incident management while fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Dexcom’s evolving cloud reliability strategy in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will play a pivotal role in driving systematic root cause analysis and mentoring other engineers to adopt a reliability-first design mindset across our global cloud-native ecosystem.
Where you come in:
The OPAL Architect: Act as a primary contributor to the OPAL (Operations Performed by Agentic Layers) initiative. You will lead the design and implementation of Agentic Layers and MCP Servers that move us from "Monolithic Operations" to a sustainable, self-healing architecture.
Engineering Mentorship (The "POWER" Fellowship): Lead our local "clinical residency" model. You will mentor high-performing junior and associate engineers (including our fast-paced local leads) through pair programming, deep architectural reviews, and "Grand Rounds" incident post-mortems.
Systemic Reliability: Lead the charge on end-to-end modernization. You will personally contribute to the rollout of dark-mode validation, synthetic testing, and automated recovery patterns within our Resilience Engine.
Matrix Collaboration: Champion a "Distributed-First" model. You will oversee the professional growth and site-level health of the India team while ensuring engineers remain deeply embedded in functional squads led by US-based Product and Engineering leads.
Observability & Data Fabric: Design and build the tooling that ensures our data architecture can recover from disasters and support global multi-region readiness.
Compliance-as-Code: Navigate the complexities of a regulated medical device environment (QMS) by treating compliance as an engineering challenge, automating validation through CI/CD pipelines.
What makes you successful:
Technical Sovereignty: You are a high-performing SRE and Software Developer. You are equally comfortable debugging a Go-based microservice as you are optimizing a Kubernetes scheduler or architecting a global data fabric.
Agentic Mindset: You have a deep interest in AI-Native engineering. You understand how to programmatically leverage LLMs (e.g., Gemini) to eliminate toil and build autonomous system guardrails.
High-Touch Mentor: You excel at looking out for the career growth of fast-paced, high-potential engineers. You lead by technical respect rather than positional authority, preventing power struggles through collaborative design.
Analytical Sharpness: You have a first-principles understanding of Linux internals, distributed networking (gRPC, service mesh), and high-concurrency architectures.
The "Site Gravity" Factor: You are a cultural pillar for the Bengaluru office, helping to recruit and retain the top 5% of CS talent by maintaining a rigorous, engineering-first culture.
What you’ll get:
A front row seat to life changing CGM technology. Learn about our brave #dexcomwarriors community.
A full and comprehensive benefits program.
Growth opportunities on a global scale.
Access to career development through in-house learning programs and/or qualified tuition reimbursement.
An exciting and innovative, industry-leading organization committed to our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
Experience and Education:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years in Software Engineering, SRE, or Platform Engineering, with at least 4+ years in a technical leadership or "Player-Coach" role.
Cloud Mastery: Proven track record of architecting and operating at scale on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Tooling: Expert-level proficiency in Go or Python, Kubernetes,
Terraform/Pulumi, and modern CI/CD patterns.
Bonus: Experience in highly regulated industries (MedTech, Fintech) and a background in building internal developer platforms.
