BMS Systems Applications Engineer

Join our Automotive Battery Management Systems (BMS) engineering team as a Systems Application Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, validation, and system‑level integration of high‑performance BMS system solutions. This role involves working closely with cross‑functional teams—including firmware, software, and system engineering—to deliver reliable and high‑performance solutions. The candidate must be self-motivated, willing to learn exciting new technologies, develop new product solutions, exhibit strong hardware, software skills and work effectively within a talented group of individuals across multiple development locations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to automotive OEMs and Tier1s in integrating ADI systems solutions and software products into their systems.
  • Develop, apply, and gain hands-on proficiency in Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), including practical operation and data analysis using industry standard tool.
  • Implement and verify ASIL‑D safety‑critical hardware functionality at the ASIC level for BMS applications.
  • Create Go-To-Market content for BMS products including application notes, user guides, and training materials.
  • Design and develop evaluation boards and reference designs for BMS systems using industry-standard tools and validate hardware through lab testing.
  • Perform EMI/EMC testing and ensure compliance with automotive and industrial standards.
  • Perform system functional and performance validation under various operating conditions.
  • Develop and maintain firmware in Embedded C for microcontrollers and BMS ICs and create automation and test scripts using Python for validation and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal stake holders like hardware, systems, and validation teams to deliver robust, production-quality BMS solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales and field application teams to deliver tailored BMS solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and contribute to continuous improvement of tools and processes.
  • Apply basic AI techniques for data analysis, diagnostics, and predictive modelling in battery systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience as an Apps engineer building System prototypes, Evaluation Tools, and Go-To-Market content.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design, lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.), and debugging tools.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC testing methodologies and standards.
  • Proficiency in C for real-time embedded systems (bare metal and/or RTOS)
  • Strong fundaments in protocols like SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Exposure to AI fundamentals and interest in applying them to engineering problems.
  • Project and issue management experience using SCM tools, SVN, GIT, JIRA, JAMA.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of Software, Applications, System, and Product engineers with wide-ranging backgrounds, cultures, and geographies.

Preferred (Nice to Have):


  • Experience in automotive customer engagement is a strong advantage.
  • Battery chemistry, operating characteristics, and state algorithms (SOC, SOH, etc.)
  • Knowledge of EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy), and battery cell modelling.
  • Exposure to safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC61508 or similar.
  • Strong Python skills for scripting, test automation, or validation tasks
