Qualcomm is a company of inventors that unlocked 5G—ushering in an era of rapid acceleration in connectivity and new possibilities that transform industries, create jobs, and enrich lives. This is only the beginning. As we pioneer the path toward 6G, we are looking for inventive minds with diverse skills and backgrounds to help turn breakthrough ideas into world‑changing technologies.

In this role, you will lead the design, bring-up, debug, and characterization of advanced reference hardware platforms across Mobile, Access Point, Computing, Automotive, Drone, and Satellite domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end hardware board design, including system architecture definition, functional specifications, schematic capture, layout guidance, and technical documentation.

  • Design and develop complex digital, RF, and power circuitry from concept through production.

  • Lead and support PCB layout, component selection, and stack-up definition, ensuring compliance with signal, power, and RF integrity requirements.

  • Perform hands-on board bring-up, debug, and characterization using RF, digital, and power analysis equipment.

  • Review and provide feedback on customer and partner designs (schematic and layout), and support system integration and issue resolution.

  • Collaborate closely with SoC (RF, Analog, Baseband), System, and Firmware teams to ensure robust end-to-end platform integration.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering Digital/RF board designs end-to-end, from concept through production.

  • Extensive background in complex wireless and networking hardware, including digital, clocking, power, and RF circuits.

  • Deep understanding of RF layout techniques and cross-talk, noise, and coupling mechanisms impacting system performance.

  • Strong hands-on experience with RF, Signal Integrity, and Power Integrity simulation tools (e.g., ADS, HFSS, SIPro, PIPro).

  • Solid knowledge of power architecture design, including DC/DC converters, LDOs, and PDN optimization.

  • Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, USB, GbE, DDR, MIPI RFFE, SPI, and similar protocols.

  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Mentor Xpedition, Cadence Allegro).

  • Hands-on lab experience using digital oscilloscopes, power analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.

  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and effective in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing very high-density, multi-layer PCBs.

  • Familiarity with 3GPP 4G/5G and IEEE 802.11 (Wi‑Fi) wireless standards.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of hands-on hardware board design experience.
