Wood India Consulting division is currently recruiting for a Senior Flow Assurance Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.  



This position is based in Chennai and because success in the role will require in-person contact with the team, remote work is not an option.  



The Role   



The Senior Flow Assurance Engineer will be involved in providing technical leadership in flow assurance and pipeline/process simulation, while acting as a key point of contact or project manager for clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams. 



This role includes reviewing technical documentation, ensuring quality deliverables, and leading major projects while mentoring junior engineers.  You will also manage key projects, develop technical proficiency within the company and assist in new opportunities and interfaces with key clients.

Responsibilities:

The key objectives for this role are:  



  • The Senior Engineer shall be conversant in flow assurance and/or process/pipeline simulation and serve as a technical point/PM of contact for the Customer, Contractor(s), Suppliers/Vendors and other internal department(s) 

  • Project management of small, medium or large project teams of flow assurance and process specialists 

  • Develop work scopes, proposals, and CTRs as required 

  • Review technical reports, proposals & other project activities 

  • Independently perform detailed technical work in support of project and study work 

  • Lead big projects, mentoring junior engineers 

  • Effective interaction with clients on proposal/Project 

  • The Lead engineer shall ensure that they comply with the Company HSE Policy and Quality Management System (QMS)

Expected:   



  • B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering, along with Proven years of experience in the field of flow assurance and process simulation 

  • Thorough working understanding of OLGA, PVTSim, PIPENET, MULTIFLASH, PIPESIM & SPS software 

  • Mentoring junior engineers, Flow Assurance training, responsible for QMS documentation and ISO Audit 

  • Hands on experience of Well modelling, Well start-up, hydrate management study, WAX analysis, sand management, sand erosion, corrosion study, pipeline slugging & mitigation methods, pipeline transient operations like Pigging, turndown, ramp up, blowdown, start-up & shutdown analysis using OLGA 

  • Should have experience in handling single phase liquid system for steady state & pressure surge analysis 

  • Exposure to HYSYS dynamics study is an advantage for topside dynamics simulations as per C&E charts 

  • Candidate should have experience on the preparation of technical proposal for flow assurance study without intervention of Lead consultants 


  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams 

  • Experience in interaction with client and handle project independently without any intervention from senior consultants
