Operations, Reliability & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, document fixes, and implement preventive measures.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost, security posture, and operational health.
- Maintain runbooks, documentation, and operational workflows.
- Ensure adherence to identity, networking, and security standards established by cloud governance teams.
Collaboration, Enablement & Continuous Improvement
- Work with multidisciplinary teams (developers, analysts, data scientists) to integrate cloud services effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to development squads as they build cloud competencies.
- Educate teams on new cloud initiatives, patterns, and automation practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, infrastructure reliability, and engineering standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 24 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, or operating cloud solutions in AWS and/or Azure.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, especially Terraform, including modular and reusable IaC patterns.
- Understanding of cloud architecture, networking, IAM, and security fundamentals in enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting cloud applications through multiple SDLC stages.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Data platforms, ETL pipelines, analytics workloads
- Application hosting and containerization
- Automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and business teams.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to proactively identify and address issues.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with cloud-native patterns such as API-driven services, REST, web services, and event-driven architecture.
- Exposure to GitOps tooling (e.g., Argo CD, Flux) or declarative provisioning frameworks (e.g., Crossplane).
- Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
Skills & Attributes
- Clear, concise communicator able to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Organised and disciplined in delivery, with attention to code quality and documentation.
