Key job responsibilities
- Assist in the integration and optimization of Dolby Vision technology for embedded display systems, focusing on color accuracy and dynamic tone mapping.
- Support the implementation of HDMI 2.1b standards, ensuring compliance and robust integration in our products.
- Collaborate with the SoC team to optimize the display pipeline and enable support for new display features.
- Develop and maintain display drivers and software for Linux-based embedded systems.
- Contribute to panel integration efforts, including bring-up and optimization for MIPI-DSI and HDMI interfaces.
- Assist in debugging and resolving display-related issues across various embedded devices and platforms.
- Utilize Yocto to create and maintain custom Linux distributions for display-centric devices.
- Implement and optimize display drivers within the Linux kernel, with a focus on DRM/KMS subsystems.
- Use Gerrit for code reviews and GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze and help resolve signal integrity issues in high-speed display interfaces under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contribute to the development of display-related documentation and specifications.
- Participate in open-source display driver development and engage with the Linux community.
- Continuously learn and stay updated on emerging display technologies and Linux kernel developments.

- Implementing and testing new display features (like Dolby Vision)
- Ensuring compatibility between SoC display interfaces and various panels
- Optimizing power consumption for different display configurations
- Contributing to the company's proprietary display subsystems

- 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience in embedded development in C/C++
- Experience developing and maintaining Display Processing Unit (DPU) drivers in a Linux environment, including hands-on work with the DRM/KMS framework for display pipeline management and kernel-level driver integration.
- Proficiency with the Yocto build system for cross-compiling and packaging Linux kernel modules and display drivers for embedded SoC platforms.
- Familiarity with Wayland-based windowing systems (Weston/Wayland) and their interaction with the DRM/KMS display stack in embedded Linux environments.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- DPU Driver Development Experience developing or maintaining Display Processing Unit (DPU) drivers in a Linux environment, with working knowledge of kernel-level driver architecture and SoC display subsystem integration, including pre-silicon bring-up using emulation platforms (e.g., FPGA, Palladium) or simulation environments.
- DRM/KMS Framework Hands-on experience with the DRM/KMS framework for display pipeline management, including mode setting, plane configuration, and atomic commit workflows in embedded Linux systems. Experience validating DRM/KMS behavior in pre-silicon environments (emulators or virtual platforms) is a plus.
