Purpose
The Salesforce Process & Governance Analyst is responsible forthe quality of demand entering the Salesforce backlog. The role ensures that change requests arewell‑framed, evidence‑based, and supported by appropriate analysis and documentationbefore progressing to prioritisation.
This role focuses onproblem definition, analysis, process clarity, and governance. It doesnotown solution design, technical requirements, or delivery.
There will be a requirement to align to European hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Intake & triage ownership
Own thetriage stageof the Salesforce change governance process
Review incoming requests to ensure they clearly articulate:
The problem being solved
The scale and impact of the issue
Supporting data, context, and constraints
Work with requestors to resolve gaps, ambiguity, or weak problem framing
This role governs thequality and clarityof demand entering the backlog;prioritisationand sequencing decisions sit outside this role.
Problem analysis & decision support
Performlightweight, high‑level analysison backlog items to:
Validate the nature and scale of issues raised
Support prioritisation discussions
Identify relevant considerations, constraints, and dependencies to inform downstream solution design
Maintain a clear distinction betweenproblem analysisandsolution design, focusing onwhat needs to be solved and why, nothow it should be built
Backlog governance & reporting
Maintain Salesforce change items inAzure DevOps, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency
Producereporting, dashboards, and insighton backlog health, themes, ageing, and demand drivers
Act as a governance control point to improvesignal‑to‑noiseacross the Salesforce backlog
Business engagement & standards
Work closely with business stakeholders to:
Set clear expectations around their responsibilities within the change governance process
Improve the quality of submissions over time through guidance and feedback
Reinforce governance standards pragmatically, without becoming a delivery bottleneck
Process documentation
Maintain and updateprocess maps and supporting documentationrelated to Salesforce change governance
UseVisio (Apex standard)or equivalent approved tooling to ensure documentation is consistent, accessible, and current
This role does:
Shape, challenge, and refine problem statements
Ensure sufficient data, analysis, and documentation exist to support prioritisation decisions
Improve governance, transparency, and backlog quality
This role does not:
Translate problems into detailed technical requirements or user stories
Own solution design, delivery, or build decisions
Act as a Salesforce developer or configuration resource
Skills & experience
Essential
Experience working as aSalesforce userin a business or operational context
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assesspoorly defined or ambiguous problems
Experience working withstructured intake, triage, or governance processes
Experience maintaining and analysing work items inAzure DevOpsor similar backlog management tools
Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and challenging constructively
Desirable
SalesforceAdministrator knowledge(configuration awareness, not hands‑on build)
Experience producingmanagement reporting or operational dashboards
Experience creating and maintainingprocess mapsusing Visio or similar tools
