Job Description:
The IT Asset Data Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate asset data within the asset management system (e.g., ServiceNow) for the supported client/account. This role ensures end-to-end tracking of hardware and software assets by handling IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Dispose) requests, performing data reconciliation, and supporting reporting requirements to enable effective asset governance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage asset lifecycle activities including Install, Move, Add, Change, and Dispose (IMACD) for hardware and software assets
Create, update, and maintain asset records in the asset management tool (e.g., ServiceNow)
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all asset records
Perform regular reconciliation of asset data against multiple data sources (procurement, inventory, discovery tools, etc.)
Monitor asset status and ensure timely updates throughout the lifecycle
Validate and track asset movements across locations, users, and stockrooms
Support audit and compliance requirements by maintaining accurate asset records and documentation
Generate periodic and ad-hoc reports for stakeholders and leadership
Identify and resolve data discrepancies and drive data quality improvements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, IT support, vendors) for asset-related activities
Support stock management and disposal tracking processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
0–1 years of experience in IT Asset Management (HAM/SAM) or IT operations
Hands-on experience with asset management tools such as ServiceNow
Good understanding of IT asset lifecycle management
Strong data management and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
Attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with discovery tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, Tanium)
Knowledge of software licensing (SAM) concepts and compliance
Familiarity with ITIL processes
Experience in reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau)
