As a Release Train Engineer, a typical day involves governing and driving the end-to-end delivery of backend and downstream system changes that support digital business initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with Digital Squads, FAB IT, and multiple vendor backend and system teams to ensure seamless execution across the delivery lifecycle. Acting as the single point of contact for backend delivery, the lead ensures accurate estimations, dependency management, technical quality, and timely releases. Working in a cloud-first and agile environment, the role focuses on delivering scalable, reliable, and standards-compliant backend solutions while enabling smooth sprint execution and enterprise change governance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) between Digital Squads and FAB IT / vendor backend and systems teams.
Groom, govern, and oversee the end-to-end backend delivery process, including downstream and integration systems.
Support Digital Squads execution by ensuring FAB IT and vendors provide accurate effort estimates and clear delivery timelines for backend changes.
Communicate backend delivery dependencies clearly to Delivery Leads and Scrum Masters to support sprint planning and execution.
Align with all involved FAB and vendor stakeholders on activities related to backend and downstream system development.
Ensure backend services are delivered with high technical quality, adhering to enterprise best practices and technical standards.
Take ownership of delivery-related decisions and contribute to cross-team technical and execution decisions.
Provide solutions to backend delivery challenges that span multiple teams and systems.
Orchestrate, coordinate, and support smooth release execution activities, including Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes.
Mentor and guide team members to strengthen delivery discipline, technical understanding, and operational excellence.

Strong experience in backend delivery management and enterprise system integration.
Deep understanding of backend architectures, APIs, and downstream system dependencies.
Proven experience working in Agile delivery models with Digital Squads.
Strong stakeholder management skills across internal IT teams and external vendors.
Hands-on experience with release management and CAB processes.
Good To Have Skills:
Exposure to cloud-based backend platforms and integration frameworks.
Understanding of non-functional requirements such as performance, security, and scalability.
Ability to work with architecture, QA, and operations teams to ensure production readiness.
Additional Information:
The candidate should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in backend delivery, system integration, or enterprise application delivery roles.
Experience working in banking or regulated enterprise environments is preferred.
This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
