The Regional Operations Manager (ROM) is accountable for all elements of the Corporate Security program at all Amazon corporate locations across APAC and provides subject matter expertise to other company sites across the globe as required. The ROM ensures that corporate security programs are tracked maintained and executed in line with regional and global requirements.
The role supports the Head of Global Corporate Security - APAC, to proactively take ownership and deliver services effectively, to coordinate, develop, and support security operations. The ROM is responsible for developing, initiating, maintaining, and promoting security projects and program updates and to communicate regionally and globally to promote efficiency and cohesiveness of security programs and projects. The ROM will support and deputise for Regional/Area Security Managers where necessary to cover leave/absence.
This position will provide expertise to support the development of Amazon Corporate Security policies, processes, projects and programs. The ROM is expected to drive corporate security within the region and their success will be based in large on their ability to build collaborative relationships with their peers in region and globally within Amazon Corporate Security as well as partnership with Facilities Management, Environmental Health and Safety teams.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include:
- Security Program Oversight: Maintain ownership of site security audits, inspections, and remedial action resolution across the APAC region, while identifying vulnerabilities and developing plans to close security gaps in alignment with global standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Build and sustain strong working relationships with peer groups, internal customers, and global Corporate Security teams, fostering communication on operational challenges, ideas, and initiatives.
- Vendor & Resource Management: Develop and manage relationships with security service providers and integrators, review guard force deployment effectiveness, and assist in creating and maintaining regional security budgets.
- Project & Program Management: Lead and support security projects from inception to completion, ensuring deliverables are met within scope and timelines, while facilitating cross-functional collaboration with global project managers and teams.
- Reporting & Data Management: Draft detailed reports and white papers, promote and simplify data processes, and ensure leadership has timely, accurate information to gauge Corporate Security performance.
- Risk Management & Due Diligence: Proactively anticipate, identify, and evaluate emerging risks in collaboration with the APAC security team, conducting security due diligence and updating operational procedures accordingly.
- New Facility & Design Support: Provide security expertise for the design and operations of new facilities, supporting strategic business and operational goals through active project involvement.
- Training & Continuous Improvement: Support security training programs to enhance operational skills and service delivery, regularly review and update security documentation, and align regional procedures with global standards.
- Experience in the security field in a global corporate environment or large-sized organization (e.g. NGO, public sector, police, or military), including experience in a managerial role
- Experience in security operations, risk management, and incident response
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement, Business Management, Accounting or related fields
- Experience that includes developing metrics, strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities to manage tactical operations and in development of strategic program plans
- MBA from a leading business school, demonstrating advanced operational acumen and strategic thinking.
