Position Summary


The Purchase Manager ensures efficient procurement, receiving, storage, and inventory control operations that support hotel objectives, cost efficiency, and service excellence, in alignment with Hyatt’s purpose of Care for People so they can be their Best.


Key Roles & Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage purchasing, inventory control, receiving, and stores operations
  • Ensure cost control, budget adherence, and accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee supplier sourcing, negotiations, quotations, and contract compliance
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels using FIFO and effective stock controls
  • Ensure timely availability of quality goods at competitive prices
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls, audits, and statutory requirements
  • Utilize SCALA Materials Management System effectively
  • Provide cost analysis, forecasts, and consumption insights to department heads
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop Materials team members
  • Promote Hyatt values, safety standards, and strong internal stakeholder relationships

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Supply Chain, Commerce, or related field
  • 6–8 years of Materials/Purchasing experience in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, procurement processes, and cost control
  • Experience with materials management systems (SCALA preferred)
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, audits, and compliance requirements
