Product Owner - Methods & Tools
Team: Airbus India - Engineering Methods & Tools
About the team:
We are a transverse team working with different core engineering verticals in Airbus. The USP of this team is working in a multi-functional environment providing digital solutions to engineering problems. The team is composed of people with Core Engineering domain knowledge complemented by software development skills. The team plays an enabler role in various digitization initiatives across Airbus utilizing the latest technologies and the domain knowledge they have.
Some examples of the digital solutions are Data driven designs of wiring, Automated routing electrical harnesses, Data Analytics based products aimed at reducing physical tests of material specimens. We are also involved in developing web-based solutions to encapsulate and automate different workflows such as flight test planning, business management etc. In addition to these, developing tools for Electrical Wiring Harness and Hydraulic Circuit design process improvements. Some of the tools developed are used in the areas of Aircraft Safety analysis and Engineering Business Data monitoring etc.
M&T is also deeply involved in Agile Scrum and SAFe processes in developing state of the art digital products for the areas mentioned above.
Basic Requirements:
Engineering graduate with 8+ years of experience with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience as Product owner.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables and prioritize accordingly.
Ability to define, refine and own the product implementation backlog according to the project roadmap and overall product strategy
Ability to write or review acceptance criteria, perform validation of the tool developments, perform product system demo & regular follow-up with the end user for acceptance of the solution.
Ability to perform business acceptance testing, documenting and capturing all identified bugs and potential improvements.
Ability to perform the quality gate to secure solution development/deployment and ensure documentation updates (training materials, user guides,...)
Ability to prepare and secure Continuous Release Management
Ensure to collect feedback from business deployment and prioritization of features supporting usage of the tool in operations.
Working experience as Product owner in IT solution development/integration.
Good to know:
Good knowledge of Airbus Business process, in particular Airframe Physical Design process DE.PA and Configuration management.
Know-how of Airbus data platforms (EBAM, CoreAll, PLM, Skywise)
Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex product lifecycles.
Certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or SAFe PM/PO certification
Know-how of tools like JIRA, VersionOne etc
Previous experience in the aerospace sector or similar
Tool Familiarity: Experience with engineering tools commonly used in aerospace (e.g., ICC ACP, CATIA, 3DEXPERIENCE/Enovia) or legacy Airbus tools.
Awareness of Software application lifecycle management
Soft Skills
Very good communication and presentation skills
Ability to demonstrate effectiveness in holding conversations with customers in a customer-centric outreach.
Demonstrate ability to work as a team in a highly collaborative environment.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a large team of diverse specialists & experts.
Ability to lead in an environment of constant change involving multiple internal processes.
