As a Product Owner on the Data Platform team for the CAP division, you'll bridge business strategy and technical delivery at Nasdaq, translating internal client needs, quantifiable business outcomes and product vision into actionable data platform solutions that power Nasdaq businesses with global reach.

You'll own the product backlog, collaborate with cross-functional agile teams, and ensure we deliver high-impact products that drive measurable business outcomes.

You'll thrive in this position if you're analytical, customer-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, agile environment where technical understanding meets strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Managers to translate roadmaps into actionable, well-defined user stories and clear acceptance criteria that drive customer outcomes.
  • Lead and own backlog refinement by ensuring user stories are clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with strategic goals and customer needs.
  • Understand the business processes, story mapping, documenting detailed business requirements, conducting gap analysis and all necessary due diligence to bring the product and development teams to a common understanding of the customer needs, how it will satisfy the business need and how we will measure success.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies and rituals, collaborating with engineering, design, and business teams to deliver customer-ready products that make tangible business impacts.
  • Define and validate product requirements through close engagement with product managers, customers and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business vision.
  • Plan, organize and lead User Acceptance Testing, inspect completed work, and accept or reject deliverables based on defined criteria.
  • Support agile project management, including issue resolution, testing, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Provide production support issue triage and facilitate timely resolution.
  • Drive identification, socialization and mitigation of risks that could compromise delivery.
  • Define and monitor feature-level success metrics in partnership with Product Managers, ensuring delivered functionality meets customer needs and drives measurable value.

We expect you to have -

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or related roles in technology or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience working with development teams.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with experience gathering requirements, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, managing backlogs, and prioritizing based on business value.
  • Understanding of modern data engineering fundamentals, including pipelines, ETL/ELT, data operations, and data lifecycle management.

It would be great if you have

  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Scrum Product Owner, CSM).
  • Technical background and hands-on experience with data engineering.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native data platforms and modern data stack technologies (e.g., Spark, Databricks).
  • Familiarity with SQL and Python.
  • Experience in capital markets, fintech, or regulated industries.
