Job description

As a member of the Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) Tail Sourcing team, you will lead a team of procurement professionals specializing in tail spend management across two key areas: reactively sourcing purchase requisitions submitted directly by business requesters, and proactively analyzing unmanaged spend to expand catalog coverage and reduce non-compliant purchasing. Your team will conduct competitive sourcing events through e-sourcing platforms, prioritizing Preferred/Managed and DOSB (Diverse-Owned Small Business).
Key job responsibilities
• Lead a team of procurement professionals executing reactive tail spend sourcing and proactive unmanaged spend analysis to expand catalog coverage and reduce non-compliant purchasing across multiple categories and regions within GPO scope.
• Champion the adoption and development of AI-powered tools and automation technologies to enable autonomous sourcing, continuously improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance decision-making capabilities, leveraging emerging procurement technologies to drive operational excellence and results delivery.
• Ensure adherence to Amazon's Global Spending and Transaction Policy and drive compliance to GPO procurement policies, procedures, and payment terms standards.
• Build effective stakeholder relationships with business requesters, Category Management teams, Site Procurement Operations, external suppliers, and cross-functional partners to align on sourcing strategies and supplier selection priorities.
• Drive delivery of key performance metrics including savings opportunities, catalog coverage expansion, sourcing cycle time reduction, supplier diversity inclusion (DOSB prioritization), and compliance rates by leading process improvement initiatives.
• Partner with other procurement leaders on regional and global projects to optimize tail spend management through technology enablement.
• Contribute to achievement of Procurement's annual targets for managed spend, cost savings, compliance rates, and operational excellence.
• Scope roles, recruit, and hire procurement professionals according to business needs.
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching on sourcing best practices, policy compliance, and AI/automation tool proficiency.
