The Process Simulation Engineer is part of the Process Facilities Engineering organization within Chevron’s ENGINE center. This role supports offshore production assets with a primary focus on process simulation and measurement/allocation engineering. The role enables high-quality operating decisions and accurate hydrocarbon accounting through model-based analysis and strong stakeholder partnership.
Develop and maintain process simulation models (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ProII or equivalent) to evaluate design and operating scenarios, support optimization/debottlenecking, and inform operating strategies across multiple deepwater facilities.
Develop and maintain compositional simulation models and perform related calculations to support fluid characterization, production allocation, and measurement validation.
Reconcile material balances using field, lab, and model data to identify losses, resolve discrepancies, and improve hydrocarbon accounting accuracy.
Provide measurement and allocation engineering support, including metering performance review, data validation, allocation methodology support, and technical input to resolve measurement-related issues affecting production reporting and compliance.
Partner with the Measurement Coordinator and stakeholders to prioritize work, align on next steps, and resolve issues efficiently.
Required Qualifications:
5 years of process engineering experience supporting upstream/offshore operations, with demonstrated experience building and applying compositional simulation models.
Experience using simulation tools to characterize fluids, evaluate PVT behavior, and model phase behavior (e.g., multi-stage flash, shrinkage) across production systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant years of upstream/offshore experience with strong compositional modeling capability applied to integrated production systems.
Proven ability to develop and apply models to understand fluid behavior, commingled systems, and impacts to production allocation and material balance.
Experience and familiarity with production allocation and measurement workflows preferred.
