Job description

At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. If you would like to help us build the place to find and buy anything online, this is your chance to make history and be involved in growing our business by leading and supporting new building expansion and change.
Tech – Supply Chain manages all IT infrastructure and end-user equipment deployed across Amazon's network globally. The team is responsible for providing end-to-end solutions that include lifecycle management, change control, capital/demand planning, material management, Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), and liquidation.
The Process Engineering team converts network strategies and operational standards into executable engineering solutions that power device fulfillment, value-added services, and reverse logistics across the RAD network. By optimizing layouts, engineering scalable workstations, and validating system interactions between tools, labour, and infrastructure, the team ensures RAD can expand fulfillment capacity while maintaining safety, operational efficiency, and service reliability.
Key job responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate existing fulfillment workflows across device fulfillment, value-added services, and reverse logistics, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost-per-unit reduction.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, value stream mapping, and simulation-based capacity analysis to drive operational excellence and reduce costs.
- Conduct time-motion studies, workflow analysis, line balancing, productivity modeling, and process mapping to identify throughput constraints and inefficiencies.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and engineering standards to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
- Support the engineering execution of RAD expansion and new facility launches, including feasibility studies, labour and capacity models, workflow design, and ergonomic validation.
- Contribute to site design and material flow strategies that enable RAD to grow with predictable throughout and controlled operational risk.
- Support ERP/WMS implementation efforts and help validate system and process designs, including system interactions between tools, labour, and infrastructure.
- Integrate quality engineering principles directly into workflow design, using tools such as FMEA, control plans, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) analysis to strengthen process reliability.
- Conduct process and product quality audits to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
- Drive proactive risk identification, root cause analysis, and implementation of engineering controls to prevent recurrence of systemic failure points.
- Support the establishment and maturation of a Quality Management System (QMS) to improve quality outcomes and meet customer needs.
A day in the life
We are looking for a Process Engineer based in India who can collaborate across multiple functional and operational teams to establish and improve our engineering processes. This role will design factory layouts, scalable workstations, and material flow systems; diagnose process constraints; identify improvement opportunities; prescribe engineering solutions; and guide improvement efforts from concept through execution.
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions
