Privacy Specialist
Location: Pune, India
We are looking for a generalist Data Privacy Specialist. You will be part of our Compliance and Data Protection team. We operate globally, and our Compliance & Dat Protection function plays a critical role in enabling sustainable growth while protecting our people, our reputation, and our business. We are currently 8 team members in the Compliance and Data Protection team.
Hempel’s Corporate Head Office is located in Lyngby, Denmark. The Compliance & Data Protection team supports the entire Hempel Group globally, and this role is based in Pune, India, serving as an essential operational hub. Our corporate language is English.
Major Responsibilities include:
Handling of Data Subject Requests (EU GDPR principle: Subject Access Requests, right to be forgotten, etc.),
Data Mapping activities,
Privacy Breach management,
Employee Data Access requests.
Follow-up on risk mitigation plans with risk owners,
Privacy review of vendors including input to Data Privacy Agreements (DPA), etc.
Required education, experience and job-related skills
Education
Minimum bachelor’s degree
Degree in Law, Business Law, Information Governance or related field preferred. Other candidates will be considered if they have the right experience
Experience
3–5 years of experience in privacy, compliance, risk, governance or related operational function
Significant exposure to GDPR required, exposure to other data protection frameworks is an advantage
Experience supporting assessments, documentation or regulatory processes
Job-Related Skills
Strong organizational and process-oriented mindset
Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel
Structured documentation and reporting skills
Diligent and precise
Ability to work independently, and to escalate appropriately
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience with governance or workflow tools (e.g. One Trust or similar) is a plus
Language Skills
Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) required
