We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager – Principal, to lead and drive special projects and programmatic initiatives aimed at enhancing the organization’s cybersecurity posture. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions, optimize processes, and ensure robust security measures and compliance requirements are in place to protect the organization’s digital assets.


The role of the Project Manager is to ensure the projects deliver the defined scope of deliverables and change initiatives within the constraints of budget, schedule and quality. This is achieved through effective organization and leadership, planning and control, budget management, resource management, risk management and issue resolution, change management and quality management.


Project management and coordination of Cybersecurity initiatives:


  • Drive the management of cybersecurity projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Assist in defining project scope, estimates, and resource plans for smaller to medium-sized initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to project tracking and reporting, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for the M&A function, to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements, cybersecurity standards, and internal risk controls.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure adherence to Medtronic’s quality system procedures and compliance standards.
  • Monitor project risks and issues, escalating as necessary for resolution.
  • Follow Medtronic’s project management methodology and standard operating procedures.

Security Risk Management, Governance and Collaboration:


  • Facilitate the harmonization of compliance programs, risk management processes, and governance structures post-merger
  • Support the alignment of security initiatives with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security awareness and practices.
  • Assist in remediation efforts identified through risk assessments to mitigate cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement GRC integration plans for acquired entities(M&A), ensuring alignment with Medtronic’s policies, standards, and culture
  • Contribute to compliance activities with standards such as NIST and ISO 27001.
  • Support audits and assessments to ensure adherence to security frameworks.

Additional Skills:


  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat modeling, and risk assessment.
  • Analytical mindset with problem- solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with GRC frameworks and regulatory standards
  • Assist in preparing reports on security risks and compliance for management review

Required Knowledge and Expertise:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or related fields.
  • Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, GICSP, PMP) preferred.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives or projects.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of security technologies and tools (e.g., Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.
