Job description

As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for understanding requirements/problem statements from business functions like PLM, product engineering, project engineering, and DevSecOps processes and building enterprise architectures that meet those requirements. This role is responsible for managing enterprise-wide PLM platforms, NPI platforms, and project engineering platforms for Honeywell internal users and external customers. This role leads cross-functional teams to design end-to-end solutions for projects and execute PLM, NPI, project engineering, and DevSecOps at the enterprise level which will be leveraged by any/all Honeywell businesses. Responsible for providing solution and integration architectures between technologies such as Teamcenter, Cora, Accolade, Jira, and other related systems. Responsibility also includes working closely with offshore/outsourced resources for application development, support, and optimization. You will own and lead the technical capability evaluation of SaaS applications in the market that could potentially meet business requirements, create QFD to rate, recommend preferred business applications and develop architecture to onboard it, and integrate it with other Honeywell on-premises/ cloud-hosted/ SaaS applications as applicable.

Platform / Solution Delivery


  • Delivery of global PLM solutions for the Honeywell enterprise. Work with the functions and Strategic Business Groups (SBGs) to determine lead management optimization and partner with engineering teams in investment priorities.
  • Design of end-to-end NPI solutions for appropriate tracking and reporting of NPI programs, associated SKUs, product data, and opportunity pipeline data.
  • Support architecture and design activities related to enhancements to project engineering solutions for improvements and support programs like Project Engineering for end-to-end automation of project design and execution activities.
  • Ensure IT systems and applications meet the requirements of the businesses and their processes.
  • Partner with project delivery teams to ensure adherence to common processes and the definition of new processes.
  • This technical position focuses on integrating PLM platforms with other related systems. This includes working across internal stakeholder groups to ensure the systems and processes meet the needs of the engineering, GPMO, and offering management organization to plan, execute, and measure initiatives.

Work with the functions and Strategic Business Groups (SDGs) to determine GDM process standards, KPIs, and data elements.


Architecture Strategy and Roadmap 


  • Creation, business alignment, and delivery of global PLM, NPI Tool, and project engineering technology roadmaps for the enterprise.
  • Works with Business Partners to provide inputs to Strategic Plan (STRAP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) in support of strategies and objectives.
  • Integrate SBG-specific business processes related to Global Design Model including Teamcenter, Windchill, Jira, and other related systems.
  • Partner closely with the GDM and Enterprise Services teams to establish and align standards and technology roadmaps for emerging digital customer experience solution capabilities across Honeywell.
  • Document architectures for platform and development teams in conjunction with Solution Architects.
  • Research and recommend innovative and contemporary technology solutions by leading R&D, POC, and selection efforts for PLM, project engineering, and DevSecOps solutions.
  • Ensure alignment and support of all critical systems relative to security and data privacy policies and standards inclusive of accessibility, vulnerability, and website inventory management.
  • Partner with IT functional, business, and infrastructure leaders to establish lifecycle governance of technology in conjunction with application roadmaps.

Solution & Service Optimization


  • Drive commonality in PLM, NPI, and project engineering application platforms across Honeywell enterprise.
  • Partner with the C&CE and EIP Service and Operations Leader to manage ongoing operational support for engineering and project management using both internal and co-source resources.
  • Serve as a liaison to the solution operations team(s) to document and facilitate the successful implementation of the solution.
  • Advise and create methods to improve technical solution processes.

Qualifications:

YOU MUST HAVE


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in solutions or Enterprise architecture/deployment within PLM, product engineering, project engineering, and DevSecOps processes
  • 6+ years of experience with Teamcenter or Windchill specializing in the architect role
  • 3+ years of experience in NPI and project engineering related systems

  • Certification in Teamcenter is a plus
  • Experience in Jira, GitHub and other DevSecOps tools
  • Acting with a sense of urgency; a bias for action and speed

  • Critical to have proven people skills, working successfully in a team context with co-workers, clients, and managers across multiple functions and geographies

  • Knowledge of research advances in information technology
  • Experience or certification in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or similar methodologies
  • Ability to set priorities and remain flexible in a changing environment
  • Ability to build relationships with and gain the trust of customers by always meeting commitments
  • Ability to make the complex simple and speak/write clearly and succinctly
  • Ability to use judgment and logic to understand a problem or situation and assess carefully before acting
