Job Title: Planning Engineer




Business Unit & Location:  Global Capability Center, Xylem / Evoqua Water Technologies, Chennai - India

Responsibilities:




  • Develop Detailed Baseline schedule up to L5 based on project scope, contract requirements and available resources using primavera P6/MS project
  • Oversee and track project progress, long lead items, implementing effective monitoring systems to ensure adherence to schedules and milestones.
  • Generate Look ahead Schedules, weekly and monthly progress reports using MS Project/Advanced Excel.
  • Load resources in all tasks / activities, realign activities based on resource availability and project constraints.
  • Knowledge in Production shop floor planning, read and understand Engineering drawings.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Procurement/Production team and other key stakeholders in managing the project. Suggest Improvements in existing methods adopted.
  • Able to perform EVM analysis, Gantt Chart Critical Paths, Delay analysis, Claims and Flags.
  • Knowledge in Project budget in MS Project/Primavera and cash flow based on plan progress of the project.
  • Investigate Risks and complexities in each project and suggest Mitigation Plan to Managers to achieve milestones.


Academic and Professional Requirements:




  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with First Class.
  • 5-8 years of experience in project planning.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and scheduling techniques.
  • Familiarity with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project lifecycle is a plus.
  • Ability to analyse data and make decisions based on thorough analysis.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Capability to manage priorities and adapt quickly to changes.
  • Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera P6, SAP ERP, Power Bi, Advanced Excel, and MS Office package.
  • Experience in process water/wastewater industry is added advantage.
  • Experience in working with international teams towards planning activities will be an advantage.
  • Extra miler / self-driven to meet the commitments / goals.
