To support the expansion of our team, we are seeking to hire in Bangalore a dynamic and motivated PDM & Data Management Specialist – Traction Power Systems .
Role Overview: Working under the guidance of Product Owners, you will serve as a PDM (Product Data Management) Specialist focused on part rationalization and library optimization.
You will perform technical and statistical analyses—specifically on copper and sheet metal components—to drive data-driven decision-making for Product Owners and streamline the engineering database.
Key Responsibilities Part Rationalization: Analyze and clean up the component database to reduce redundancy and improve engineering efficiency.
Obsolescence Management: Conduct statistical analyses on existing parts (with a focus on copper and sheet metal) to identify underutilized components and manage the transition to "obsolete" status.
Technical Data Analysis: Review item descriptions and geometric specifications to ensure data integrity and standardization across the library.
Decision Support: Provide detailed reports and technical insights to Product Owners to facilitate informed decisions regarding part lifecycle and procurement.
Library Management: Oversee the mechanical component library, ensuring all parts are correctly categorized.
Project Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Customer Project Engineering team to ensure the PDM strategy aligns with active project requirements and production needs.
Candidate needs to demonstrate flexibility in his/her working hours to ensure effective collaboration with production sites and international stakeholders across different time zones.
Qualification and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) Proficiency in 3D CAD and PDM Software Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in power systems and general mechanical engineering background.
Skills: Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and with statistical analyses.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, interacting with international colleagues (mainly Europe) Knowledge and proficiency in ERP tools (Oracle is a plus) Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment and industry standards (e.
g., IEC, UL) is a plus.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
