Role Summary:

Responsible for ensuring that all surface preparation and coating activities are carried out in compliance with customer specifications, international standards, project requirements, and company quality procedures. The role focuses on technical review, process monitoring, supplier qualification and monitoring, product control, and quality assurance of coating operations from the pre-bid stage of the project to the handover of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Review customer coating specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards such as ISO, SSPC, NACE, and ASTM during bidding, project execution, and aftermarket stages.

  
  

• Prepare and review coating procedures, method statements, and work instructions, and support commercial operations to the field service teams in selecting and validating the suitable coating systems and surface preparation methods.

  
  

• Conduct qualification and competency assessments for abrasive blasters and painters in accordance with company and standard qualification procedures.

  
  

• Perform supplier audits to evaluate supplier capability in coating activities and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.

  
  

• Monitor the supplier especially fabrication and casting coating process and access their performance

  
  

• Monitor blasting and painting activities through internal audits to ensure adherence to approved procedures.

  
  

• Review and verify Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters recorded in Production Painting History Cards and supplier painting reports to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

  
  

• Conduct incoming inspection and verification of paint materials and abrasives to ensure compliance with approved technical data sheets and project specifications.

  
  

• Ensure proper storage conditions, shelf-life control, and traceability of coating materials.

  
  

• Maintain coating inspection records, batch traceability, and quality documentation to support client inspections, audits, and certification requirements.

  
  

• Provide coating-related technical guidance and training to painters, blasters, production personnel, and quality inspectors.

  
  

• Support suppliers and customers for coating-related technical matters.

  
  

• Investigate coating defects, failures, and NCRs related to surface preparation and painting activities, and support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

  
  

• Provide quality observations and technical recommendations to prevent coating failures and improve process reliability.

  
  

Preferred Skills:

• Certified Coating Inspector – NACE Level 2

  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline

  
  

• Minimum 10 years of experience in coating inspection, surface preparation, and painting quality assurance in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Preferably worked in any of the GCC customers
