Summary:


An Obsolescence Management Engineer is responsible for proactively identifying and mitigating risks associated with the end-of-life of components and other technologies used in a product or system. Analyzing potential obsolescence issues, developing and implementing strategies to address them, and ensuring the continued functionality and reliability of the product throughout its lifecycle.


Responsibilities:


  • Planning and coordination of obsolescence management relevant activities.
  • Check the export control relevance or any specific relevant restriction.
  • Review and documentation of affected assemblies/component due to change scope.
  • Coordination, communicate with the relevant stakeholders regarding the qualification.
  • Identifying if similar changes are already in progress into the system.
  • Manage the change documentation in relevant tools like OM tool, Windchill and SAP.
  • Accountable for Collecting and pre evaluate of OM relevant Data.
  • Documentation of the results of the safeguarding measures and preparation of releases, as well as support in defining corrective measures.
  • Preparation of technical reports for the documentation of series releases.

Qualifications:


BE/ B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) with 03-05 years of experience in component qualification process domain.


 Preferred requirements:


  • Knowledge of SAP, Creo, Windchill, MS Office (Word/Excel).
  • Good knowledge of engine components and functions.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering/Manufacturing processes like casting, forging, machining, die and pattern, Sheet metal, piping etc.
  • Experience in qualification process and Knowledge in testing for diesel engine components.
  • Knowledge of field issues with respect to obsolescence management.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
