NK-09 (A): Junior Safety Engineer



Missions/Main Duties

They broadly participate in the following major tasks:



Specific inspections will be carried out on activities without a predetermined date. Safety engineers will perform inspections to ensure whether the activities are executed in accordance with a general set of rules; method statement submitted or developed procedures.



  • Skilled in Reviews and inspections work areas determining potential occurrence of safety hazards.
  • The ability to determine and investigate the causes of accidents, establish reports to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ability to Develop and implement safety policies needed to reduce accident-related costs
  • Competent to Develop safety plan and provide required training to team.
  • Team Building & Developing team competence

The list mentioned above is not exhaustive. The GEC & Contractor shall ensure that a competent Supervisor inspects all high-risk processes and activities.



The GEC Safety Engineer will ensure that the following PPEs are provided by the Contractor to workmen to protect against safety and/or health hazards. Primarily PPEs are:



  1. Head Protection (Safety helmets)
  2. Foot Protection (safety footwear, Gum boot, etc.)
  • Body protection (High visibility clothing (waistcoat/jacket), Apron, etc.)
  1. Personal Fall Protection (Full body harness, Rope-grip fall arrester, etc.)
  2. Eye protection (Goggles, Welders glasses.)
  3. Hand Protection (Gloves, Finger coats, etc.)
  • Respiratory protection. (Noise mask, Scabs, etc.)
  • Hearing protection (Ear Plugs, Earmuffs, etc.)
Profile/Skills
  • Skilled in coordination, implementation on and maintaining Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities.
  • Supporter of the lead HSE to implement project HSE programs & initiatives.
  • Informing us in writing to the HSE Manager, complete on of the provisions of necessary HSE equipment and re-preventive measures have been taken on board.
  • Inspects and ensures safety measures have been taken on board.
  • Endorsing the various Permit-To-Work authorized by the company.
  • Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of project work and activities to ensure compliance with Government legislators and company's regulations and maintaining the documentation record.
  • Participating in investigation of incidents, accidents as a team leader and analyzing the root causes and recommending corrective measures.
  • Capable of performing firefighting and rescue operations when required.
  • Coordinating to the HSE Lead for Plans, controls and preparing the work schedules, manpower distribution and tasks.
  • Skilled in conducting their drills, emergency evacuation drills
