Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
• Define the end to end Microsoft Fabric architecture for Hiscox, covering ingestion, transformation, storage, analytics, and consumption layers.
• Design Lakehouse and Warehouse models optimized for insurance data (policies, claims, exposure, pricing, risk, reinsurance).
• Establish data ingestion pipelines using Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, and event based patterns.
• Architect semantic models and Power BI datasets for enterprise reporting and self service analytics.
• Ensure alignment with Hiscox’s enterprise architecture, security, and data governance frameworks.
Delivery & Technical Leadership
• Lead technical delivery teams implementing Fabric components.
• Define best practices for Fabric workspace organization, medallion architecture, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Guide teams on Delta Lake, OneLake, KQL, Notebooks, Pipelines, and Data Activator.
• Conduct design reviews, performance tuning, and optimization of Fabric workloads.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Work with Hiscox business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, security teams, and data governance leads.
• Present architectural decisions, roadmaps, and solution options to senior stakeholders.
Governance, Security & Compliance
• Implement data governance using Purview integration, lineage, cataloging, and access controls.
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS 17, GDPR).
• Define policies for data quality, retention, encryption, and access management.
Innovation & Strategy
• Advise Hiscox on Fabric adoption strategy, migration from legacy platforms, and modernization.
• Evaluate new Fabric features and recommend adoption paths.
• Drive reusable frameworks, accelerators, and architectural patterns.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
• 10+ years in data architecture, with 3+ years in Azure analytics.
• Deep hands on experience with Microsoft Fabric across:
o Data Engineering (Lakehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines)
o Data Factory (Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines)
o Data Warehouse (SQL Endpoint, Direct Lake)
o Real Time Analytics (KQL DB, Eventstream)
o Power BI (semantic models, DAX, governance)
o OneLake & Delta Lake
• Strong understanding of Azure services: ADLS, ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Event Hub, Functions, Key Vault.
• Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT, medallion architecture, and distributed systems.
Domain Knowledge
• Experience in insurance (preferred: P&C, specialty, or Lloyd’s market).
• Familiarity with underwriting, claims, pricing, actuarial, and regulatory reporting data.
Soft Skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to lead cross functional teams.
• Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and technical audiences.

Engagement Model
• Location: Hybrid/Remote with potential onsite visits to NTT offices (Delhi/NCR).
• Duration: Multi phase engagement aligned with Hiscox’s data modernization roadmap.
• Reporting: Works with Hiscox Data Platform Lead, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Data Owners.
