ModelValidation team in ModelRisk Management 



The Model Validation team is an integral part of theglobalModel Risk Management TeamThe Global Model Risk Management function withintheEnterprise Risk teamis responsible fordeveloping the firm-wide Model Risk Management framework and the implementation of the framework acrossBlackRock.  



Role



TheModel Validation teamperformsindependent reviewsof models, primarily focusing on the models produced and owned by the Aladdin Financial Engineering (AFE) group. The teamworks with the model ownersand other stakeholders (e.g.model users; governance representatives etc.), designs and runs independent testing of the models,and provide effective challengeto themodel’smethodologyand implementation, focusing on the usagecasesof the models.



We are looking for enthusiastic peoplecombined with a clear sense of how to “make it happen” through teamwork,engagementand commitment.This role requiresstrong goodunderstanding ofquantitativemodelling,exposure to programming languages (e.g., Python, R, C++), familiarity with financialproductsand strongverbal andwritten communication skills. 



Knowledge/Experience /Qualifications:



  • Advanced Degree (BS, MS) master’s degreein a quantitative discipline, and 1-3 years of experience withstrong Mathematics, Statistics and Analytical skills isrequired 



  • Strongtechnical backgroundand practical application ofone(or more) ofprogramming languagesisrequired(for example:Python; R; C++;Java;SQL; Hadoop; Linux applications; Advanced Excel modelling / VBAetc.).Some experience in using AI for analytical work is anadvantage. 



  • Strongverbal and writtencommunicationand interpersonalskills, includingabilityto explain sophisticated technical conceptsinclear way isarerequired. 



  • Practical or theoretical knowledge in one offollowingtypes of models is anadvantage:derivatives analytics; structured products analytics; portfolio risk factor models; private/alternativesasset class modelling; liquidity modelling.   



  • Broad market and finance knowledgein certain asset class areasis anadvantage(for example: Equity; Fixed Income; Beta; Derivatives; A(M)BS; Credit; Private; LDI; otheretc.). 



  • Priorexperience in quantitative modelling, model validation or related roles is aplus 



  • CFA/FRM or progress towards them are aplus. 



  • Detail oriented paying attention todetails.    



  • Fluent in spoken and written Englishisrequired.
