Middle Office Specialist (Paper Docs)
Job Function Summary
The Documentation Specialist will be primarily responsible for the daily management and reconciliation of paper flow within MTM (Markit Trade Manager) and ad-hoc trade queries around mismatches, break resolution and IA agreement. There is also a requirement to assist with project work for ongoing business initiatives and look at process inefficiencies within the space of non-electronically confirmed trades. The successful candidate will also be expected to produce firm KPIs and metrics. This is a mandatory Night Shift role.
Principal Responsibilities
Have a solid understanding of the use and application of the tools within MTM (Markit trade manager)
The candidate will be able to prioritize their workload based on good-sense and risk management.
Be able to produce KPI stats/metrics to the management team for positive and negative trend analysis.
Have an understanding of the mechanics of exotic products, particularly in option volatility and exotic FX products (dual digitals, FX Barrier options etc.)
An understanding of long-form legal documentation and the application of MCAs (Master confirmation agreements)
Resolving position/ trade discrepancies with the respective MLP Operations and Middle office teams in order to bring trades in line with their paper confirmations.
Break reconciliation and investigation between firm portfolio positions and that of the executing brokers.
Interacting and managing relationships with the internal core teams and external executing brokers,
Intraday trade monitoring as part of the T+0 reconciliation process
Dealing with post and prior value trade queries
Ad-hoc trades support business functions
Qualifications/Skills Required
Undergraduate Degree or above is preferred
Relevant experience in documentation or confirmations
Strong knowledge of financial instruments with emphasis on complex trades
MTM / Murex / Imagine experience an advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; High sense of urgency
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Must be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Must be able to work independently
Strong Excel knowledge (VBA and other coding languages are advantageous)
Quick learner, Detail oriented; Demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work
Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
