What you’ll do


  • Design & Modeling:Create 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and assemblies for Weir products and systems based on design requirements, primarily using NX software.


  • Reverse Engineering:Process point cloud data using Autodesk ReCap and convert scan data into clean meshes and parametric CAD models with Geomagic Design X / Control X, including surface reconstruction and feature extraction for engineering applications.


  • Collaboration & Communication:Independently interact with manufacturing and sales teams to ensure alignment and smooth project execution. Communicate, report, and document technical information effectively with project teams and customers.


  • Quality & Compliance:Review designs and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria, standards, and best industry practices. Perform quality checks on drawings generated by peers and provide constructive feedback.


  • Project Execution:Manage projects to meet defined quality standards, on-time delivery, and schedule adherence, working independently without supervision.


  • System Engineering:Support system engineering and integration of equipment such as pumps, valves, mechanical drives, bearings, exciters, and structures.


  • Safety First:Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.


What you’ll bring


Must-haves:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4-6 years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering, manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and GD&T.


  • Strong proficiency in NX CAD software and mechanical design principles.


  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and product knowledge of mechanical machines and tooling.


  • Ability to perform and interpret engineering calculations and apply GD&T and basic drawing principles.


Nice-to-haves:


  • Experience with reverse engineering workflows and tools such as Autodesk ReCap, Geomagic Design X / Control X, and 3D scanning technologies.


  • Knowledge of system engineering and integration of mechanical equipment like pumps and valves.


  • Familiarity with order processing, VAVE, NPD, product costing, and PLM systems such as Teamcenter or Windchill.


  • Basic knowledge of metals, materials, and their applications.
