Join us and shape your story with Mott MacDonald, where everyone has the opportunity to be brilliant .   Role specification:- • Supporting the development of technical solutions and energy strategies to help the Buildings and Infrastructure sector meet governmental and local ‘net zero carbon’ targets, focusing on both heat and power • Carry out energy audits of a range of sites in the public and private sector, identifying opportunities for improvement and quantifying capital costs and savings, including opportunities for low to net zero heat and power solutions • Developing energy reports for clients, clearly and concisely summarising findings of energy audits and site surveys. • Understanding and communicating ‘net zero carbon’ policies to clients, in support of them setting their own ‘net zero carbon’ aspirations and developing action plans to meet defined outcomes. • Carrying out energy modelling analysis and energy audits for a range of new and existing building projects. The role will have a focus on operational energy emissions reduction, but will require an awareness of ‘whole life’ carbon impacts of projects • Interfacing net zero carbon advisory with wider buildings and infrastructure outcome needs, such as environmental parameters to achieve ‘healthy buildings’ and whole life cost effectiveness in operation • Carrying out due diligence of third-party low carbon and net zero carbon project reports, drawings, specifications, energy analysis and cost models • Ensuring the production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget • Supporting business development related activities, identifying opportunities/prospects to allow us to prepare/position the team to produce winning proposals • Supporting the development of client relationships to provide good prospects and repeat business. • Conduct scenario modelling and cost-benefit analysis for emission reduction pathways. • Prepare client deliverables: reports, presentations, and dashboards with actionable insights.   Candidate Specification:- • Building energy performance analysis • Working knowledge of industry net zero carbon frameworks, guidance and approaches e.g. UKGBC, LETI, SBTi, and CRREM. • Strong knowledge of GHG accounting standards, decarbonisation technologies, and ESG frameworks. • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI) and carbon accounting software. • Ability to conduct energy audits and carbon footprint assessments for HVAC systems in commercial and industrial facilities. • Knowledge in decarbonisation roadmaps focusing on HVAC retrofits, electrification, and integration of renewable energy. • Energy modelling i.e. IES, TAS, Sefaira, Hysopt • Energy and carbon management experience • Experience in working on different building and infrastructure contract types • Qualified in a related technical subject (Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / Energy) • Membership of a related professional body • A range of report writing, and visual and verbal presentation techniques • Ability to work in diverse multidisciplinary teams • Ability to work well collaboratively, both internally and with external partners and sub-contractors • Sound knowledge and use of MS Office suite of software   Desirable Criteria:- • Building Services operations or design experience • Energy storage • Awareness of wider sustainability accreditation schemes such as BREEAM, LEED and WELL • Industrial energy performance optimisation • Whole life cost and carbon modelling • Awareness of Energy Performance Contracts • Master’s degree in a related subject • Chartered or working towards chartered status with a relevant professional body • Awareness of the Technical Advisory market and services • Smart grids and microgrids   We can offer (subject to Company’s policy) Agile and safe working environment Competitive annual leave and sick leaves Group incentive scheme Group term life insurance, Workmen’s compensation and Group medical insurance coverage Short and Long-term Global employment opportunities Global collaboration and knowledge sharing Digital Innovation and Transformation   Equality, diversity and inclusion We put equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of our business, seeking to promote fair employment procedures and practices to ensure equal opportunities for all.
