As part of the vision, ARIPL is hiring for a Manager, Vendor Management for Packaged Foods / Grocery category. We seek a highly motivated professional with a passion for P&L Management and people leadership. Our mission is to delight customers by working with vendors to offer the best selection, pricing and delivery convenience across a wide range of products. The Manager, Vendor Management will lead a high-performing team and will be responsible for driving both the top and bottom line metrics for the category. The role would be responsible for managing business & vendor relationships across the 3 programs we service – Amazon Fresh, Amazon Now and FBA(Fulfilled by Amazon). To deliver results, this person will own strategic vendor relationships, expand product selection, negotiate vendor terms, partner with marketing teams to drive traffic, and work with operations and instock to guarantee product availability. Ultimately, we expect the Manager, Vendor Management (MVM) to be a passionate customer advocate within ARIPL and have a long-term, cross-functional mindset and a deep understanding of the P&L.
The role requires comfort with influencing external stakeholders in the vendors’ organization and internal stakeholders across category, operations and product teams. Key job responsibilities
1) Full P&L responsibility, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the category.
2) Will have a strong passion for managing, hiring, developing and leading a team of Retail Vendor Managers.
3) Proven record of driving strategic vendor negotiations and delivering outsized results. Comfortable representing ARIPL when meeting with senior executive teams from top vendors.
4) Effective at setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.
5) Skilled communicator in working with external stakeholders like vendors and marketplaces, as well as with internal groups such as instock, legal, finance, operations, and marketing teams to deliver innovation and a better customer experience.
6) Strong in cross-functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs.
7) Adept at identifying industry trends that are relevant to customer selection and experience.
8) Drive high-impact projects at org level.
- 7+ years of team management experience
- 5+ years of negotiations and vendor management experience
- Master's degree
- Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience in account management, project/program management, or buying
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
