Overview

Payments Network Division is seeking a Manager in Software Engineering ;
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of software engineers and technical project managers improving software processes and setting the group's strategic direction. The software group is responsible for the design, development, documentation, integration, and test of software products, systems and subsystems on time and within budget. Applicants must also have the ability to complete technical projects independently as well as mentor and/or coach other engineers.

Role
• Promote engineering best practices and instill a team culture built on curiosity and collaboration
• Manage, mentor, and grow engineers on team, helping them advance their skillsets and careers
• Collaborate with product management and other engineering teams to build and deploy iterative solutions
• Help team maintain focus on current priorities and commitments while promoting core values of Agile software development
• Collaborate with other engineering managers and leaders to drive department-wide objectives


All About you:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of Engineering work experience
• 5+ years of software development and design experience
• At least 2 years’ experience with Go
• Experience with Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development methodologies
• Familiarity with creating and maintaining containerized application deployments with a platform like Docker
• Experience with protocol buffers and gRPC
• 1+ years of experience acting as a technical lead (mentoring and leading other engineers)
• Broad knowledge of programming languages with an emphasis on Java
• Hands-on expertise with modern Java and Go-lang based technology as well as profound knowledge of contemporary design and architectural patterns
• Application of agile methodologies to iteratively improve the customer experience and optimize engineering productivity
