Manager, Software Development - SREPosition SummaryAs a Release Engineering / Application Site Reliability Engineering (AppSRE) Manager, you will lead and support our teams in delivering program increment (PI) planning commitments and long-term objectives across Release Engineering, AppSRE, and Database Engineering (DBE) activities. This position focuses on effective team leadership, operational delivery, and predictable outcomes, ensuring agreed objectives are met with quality and reliability. You will collaborate with diverse teams across India, Europe, and our vendor partners.
Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee planning and execution of the PI Plan and team roadmap for Release Engineering, AppSRE, and DBE functions in partnership with research and development and technology services teams.
  • Support operational activities, including build, deployment, monitoring, incident response, capacity management, and financial operations (FinOps), ensuring stability and performance.
  • Encourage agile practices as a Scrum Master for the SREnity team and maintain alignment with business goals.
  • Provide inclusive leadership to a global team (~8–10 members), fostering professional growth and sustaining balanced workloads while managing dependencies and risks.
  • Champion improvements in engineering practices, prioritizing initiatives across DevOps, SRE, and FinOps to deliver speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading engineering or SRE-related teams in a complex technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of software release management, deployment, and site reliability engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with agile frameworks, including Scrum, with the ability to facilitate team processes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with experience working across diverse global teams.
  • Ability to guide strategic transitions, implement best practices, and ensure operational excellence.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Frequent collaboration with engineering peers, product management, operations, and external partners.
  • Support for People & Culture initiatives and talent acquisition where necessary.
Reports: Approximately 6 direct reports (India and EU-based), plus contractor collaboration.
Budget Responsibility: Supports product suites with significant research and development investment and revenue contribution.
