Key Competencies:



The SCADA Programming Manager is responsible for design, development, configuration, testing, and commissioning of SCADA systems for industrial plants, substations, water systems, and power plants. The role involves PLC integration, HMI development, communication setup, and troubleshooting of automation systems.




🔹 Key Responsibilities



1️⃣ SCADA Development & Configuration



  • Develop SCADA screens (HMI graphics, mimic diagrams).
  • Configure alarms, trends, and reports.
  • Database creation and tag configuration.
  • User access level configuration.
  • Real-time data acquisition setup.

2️⃣ PLC & RTU Integration



  • Interface SCADA with PLCs and RTUs.
  • Configure communication protocols:
  • Modbus (RTU/TCP)
  • IEC 60870-5-101 / 104
  • DNP3
  • OPC
  • Perform I/O mapping and tag linking.

3️⃣ Commissioning & Testing



  • Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).
  • Conduct SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
  • Loop checking and signal validation.
  • Troubleshoot communication failures.
  • System performance testing.

4️⃣ Networking & Communication



  • Configure Ethernet switches and IP addressing.
  • Setup fiber optic communication.
  • Manage VPN/remote monitoring systems.
  • Ensure cybersecurity best practices.

5️⃣ Maintenance & Support



  • Modify SCADA screens as per client requirements.
  • Backup and restore project files.
  • Troubleshoot alarm and data logging issues.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support.

🔹 Software Knowledge (Preferred Platforms)



Experience in one or more:



  • Siemens WinCC
  • AVEVA InTouch
  • ABB MicroSCADA
  • Schneider EcoStruxure
  • GE iFIX
  • BHEL MAXDNA

🔹 Required Qualifications



  • B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics & Instrumentation
  • Automation Engineering
  • 2–8 years of SCADA/PLC programming experience.

🔹 Technical Skills Required



  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation.
  • PLC programming knowledge (Ladder, FBD, STL).
  • Understanding of:
  • Control logic
  • Interlocks
  • Alarm management
  • Knowledge of SQL database basics.
  • Basic understanding of power system automation (for substation projects).
