Job Description

Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Manager - Material Management with a strong background in semiconductor facility projects. The ideal candidate will have 15 years of experience in managing material procurement, inventory control, and logistics for large-scale industrial and high-tech projects. This role involves ensuring timely availability of materials, compliance with quality standards, and cost optimization while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.


Responsibilities:


Material Planning & Procurement:


  • Develop and implement material management strategies for semiconductor projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to forecast material requirements.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials in alignment with project schedules and budgets.

Inventory & Logistics Management:


  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure efficient storage and handling of materials.
  • Coordinate logistics for material delivery and site requirements.

Vendor & Supplier Coordination:


  • Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for semiconductor-specific materials.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure adherence to delivery timelines and quality standards.
  • Resolve vendor-related issues and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Compliance & Documentation:


  • Ensure adherence to SEMI, ISO, OSHA, and local regulations for material handling.
  • Maintain accurate records of material transactions and prepare regular reports.
  • Implement robust tracking systems for material movement and usage.

Cost Control & Optimization:


  • Monitor material costs and implement strategies for cost reduction.
  • Prevent material wastage and optimize resource utilization.
  • Support budget forecasting and reporting for material-related expenses.

Stakeholder Coordination:


  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to align material requirements with project goals.
  • Provide regular updates on material status to project management and clients.
  • Address material-related risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Qualifications
  • B.Tech or Diploma in Engineering with relevant certifications in Material Management.
  • 15+ years of experience in material management for industrial/high-tech projects.
  • Must have experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facility projects.
  • Proven track record in managing procurement and logistics for EPC/PMC assignments.
  • Expertise in material planning, procurement, inventory control, and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP, and other material management tools.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor industry material specifications and standards
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certification in Supply Chain Management / Material Management.
  • Experience with cleanroom and high-tech facility material requirements.
  • Familiarity with international procurement practices and vendor qualification processes.
