Manager, Financial Business Partnering - India, Chennai - Hybrid, Office-Based

As a Manager, Financial Business Partnering at ICON, you will provide financial insights and strategic support to various departments.


What You Will Do:


You will oversee finance and financial management workstreams, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
Key responsibilities include:


  • Act as a strategic finance partner to business and functional leaders, providing insights that influence operational and strategic decisions.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, and performance management for assigned business units.
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives, including process standardization, simplification, and automation.
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced dashboards and reports using Power BI and other BI / analytics platforms.
  • Leverage automation and AI‑enabled tools (e.g., Power BI automation, advanced analytics, AI assistants such as Claude or similar tools) to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time.
  • Perform in‑depth financial and variance analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Commercial, IT, HR) to embed financial discipline and accountability.
  • Prepare and present clear, actionable financial insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance controls, governance, and data quality.

Your Profile:


You will have solid finance and financial management experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities and develop your team.
Required qualifications and experience:


  • Professional degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; professional qualification preferred (CA, CMA etc.).
  • Strong experience in Financial Business Partnering, FP&A, or management finance roles.
  • Demonstrated exposure to finance automation and transformation projects.
  • Hands‑on expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard design.
  • US / EU stakeholder management would be added advantage.
  • Candidate should have hands on experience in executive presentation.
  • Knowledge of automation, analytics, and AI tools applied within finance (e.g., workflow automation, predictive analytics, AI‑assisted analysis).
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into business‑relevant insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence managers and senior‑manager levels
  • Preferred Attributes
  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization.
  • Minimum 5+ years in people leadership & FPB/  FP&A  exposure.
  • Exposure to ERP systems and data integration (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
  • Passion for driving change, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • US / EU stakeholder management would be added advantage.
  • Candidate should have hands-on experience in executive presentation.
